The Bachelor's degree programme in Digital Business teaches the fundamentals of the digital economy in a methodical and practical way and prepares students for the challenges of digital transformation in companies. The programme focuses on topics such as digital business models and data analysis. Graduates are ideally equipped to take on strategic and operational tasks in the dynamic world of digital business.

Interdisciplinarity is in the DNA of the degree program, which is jointly supported by the Faculty of Business Economics, Economics and Real Estate and the Faculty of Informatics and Data Science.

Options from the first semester

The degree program offers the opportunity to set your own individual focus from the very first semester. You can choose a specialisation in value chain management or a specialisation in financial management and thus help shape your studies right from the start.

Master's programme

The Bachelor's degree programme in Digital Business is compatible with Master's degree programmes in Business Administration and Computer Science / Data Science, in particular with the Master's degree programmes in Management Information Systems and Business Administration at the University of Regensburg. The degree program was deliberately designed with this in mind. There are also plans to set up a separate Master's degree programme in Digital Business. The degree program is therefore also an excellent starting point for students interested in later employment in science and research.

Structure of the Program

Bachelor of Science: In principle, only one subject is studied.

Program Structure

During the orientation phase in the first week of the regular lecture period, you will receive comprehensive information about the B.Sc. DB as well as the opportunity to review the fundamentals of mathematics and a brief introduction to the subjects of the degree program.

The Bachelor's degree programme itself is divided into two phases, each comprising three semesters.

  • The first phase serves to acquire course-specific foundations and methodological skills in business administration as well as in the areas of digitalisation and technology management.
  • Specialisation in the fields of data analytics, management information systems and business administration takes place in the second study phase.
  • The degree program offers the opportunity to set your own individual focus by choosing from a specialisation in value chain management or a specialisation in financial management. You will also take modules in data analytics and computer scientists in both phases of the programme.
  • You will complete the second study phase by writing your bachelor's thesis as part of the research module group.
