Interdisciplinary - Binational Programme - Unique
The Bachelor's degree programme German-French Studies / Études franco-allemandes (DFS/EFA) has been offered jointly by the University of Regensburg in partnership with the Université Clermont Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand (external link, opens in a new window) since 2001/02 and is supported by the Franco-German University (external link, opens in a new window).
Our partner university (Université Clermont Auvergne) is not only a popular destination for students abroad, but is also one of the 200 most international universities in the world.

DFS offers:
- International, interdisciplinary studies with individual specialisation
- Acquisition of intercultural, regional studies and practical language skills
- Integrated one-year study abroad programme in Clermont-Ferrand
- Double Degree Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) / Licence recognised in Germany and France after just 6 semesters
- Integrated internships (2 months) in companies and organisations in Germany, France and other French-speaking countries
- Preparation for work in international companies, cultural institutions and public organisations
- Studying together with French fellow students in small year groups
- Possibility of a mobility grant from the Franco-German University of Applied Sciences of max. 300 euros per month during the study abroad phase (as of October 2021) and application for a mobility grant from the Bavarian-French University Centre

Structure of the Program
Program Structure
In the Binational Program B.A. programme, interdisciplinarity is achieved through predetermined subject combinations with a predetermined period of study at a foreign university.

An Internship is integrated.
Study Plan
All students spend the first of a total of three academic years (6 semesters) at their home university. They spend the second year together in Clermont-Ferrand and transfer to the University of Regensburg in the third year, where they also complete their studies together.
All coursework completed at the DFS/EFA is recognised by the partner university as part of a joint study programme, which is coordinated with the study regulations in force at the universities and concludes with a Double Degree B.A./ Licence.
