Structure of the Program

Structure of the Program

In the Master's program in Business Administration at the University of Regensburg, you can freely choose your areas of specialization in order to deepen your knowledge of your fields of interest and prepare for your professional success. The program consists of four pillars:

Business Administration Specialization Modules

  • Choose two out of eight business administration specialization module groups and specialize in specific areas of business administration.

Further specialization

  • Choose either another business administration focus module group or opt for the free focus module group.
  • The free focus module group offers you the opportunity to take modules from related subject areas such as economics, business informatics, or real estate management, or you can combine modules from the business administration program at the University of Regensburg or a partner university abroad.

Elective modules

  • Take advantage of the flexibility to deepen your specialist knowledge or acquire new skills through additional modules. You can include internships, foreign language training, or interdisciplinary modules from other faculties.

Research and master's thesis

  • Work on business management issues using scientific methods in seminars and present your results.
  • Further deepen your research skills through your master's thesis by independently working on a complex topic and developing scientifically sound solutions.

Internationalization

During your master's program, you can spend time abroad and have this counted toward your studies at the University of Regensburg. The following options are available:

  • Internship abroad: You apply for an internship at a company based abroad. Internships abroad can also be counted toward your elective module group.
  • Study abroad: You complete a semester abroad at a university of your choice, e.g., one of our partner universities.

Internship

An internship is not mandatory, but can be counted as part of the elective module group. Completing an internship at a company allows you to gain practical experience during your master's program.

In addition, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Real Estate provides you with an exclusive Marketing & Career Service to support you with your applications and prepare you for professional life in the best possible way.

Requirements Details

Aptitude Test/Assessment

1. Degree in economics with a grade of at least 2.50 – including fulfillment of the following criteria:

  • 48 ECTS in business administration

or


2. Degree in economics with a grade between 2.51 and 2.80, including fulfillment of the following criteria:

  • 48 ECTS in business administration
  • Bachelor's thesis related to business administration with a grade of 2.30 or better

If, in the opinion of the selection committee, the submitted documents do not clearly indicate the suitability or unsuitability of the applicant, the applicant will be invited by the selection committee to a selection interview.

Admission to the Honors program 

  • Content requirements as in 1., but with a minimum grade of 2.0
  • Letter of motivation: Why are you suitable for Honors?
  • Personal interview in German and/or English with members of the Honors Committee
  • Participation in the Honors Bachelor's program is neither a necessary nor a sufficient prerequisite for admission to the Honors Master's program.
  • If you are not admitted to the Honors program but meet the criteria under 1., you will be admitted to the regular M.Sc. in Business Administration.
