In the accredited (external link, opens in a new window) Bachelor's degree program in Business, Economics & Psychology, you will acquire sound, interdisciplinary knowledge from the fields of business administration, economics and psychology. The first semesters offer you a broad-based basic education in the entire spectrum of subjects and methods. You then have the opportunity to set individual specializations in the different disciplines.

In the business and economics part of the course, there is a particular focus on those subject areas in which psychological findings play a central role - for example in the world of work, in consumer behavior or in decision-making processes. The psychology part of the course particularly emphasizes the close connection between psychological concepts and labor and organizational economics issues.

As a graduate of this degree programme, you will have a versatile skills profile that will qualify you for a wide range of activities in business and economics. Interdisciplinary degree program

On the Business, Economics & Psychology degree program, you will deal with key issues in business administration, economics and psychology in equal measure. Structure of the Program

Bachelor of Science: Only one subject is studied.

Program Structure

During the orientation phase in the first week of the regular lecture period, you will receive comprehensive information about the B.Sc. BEP as well as the opportunity to review mathematics fundamentals and a brief introduction to the subjects of the degree programme.

The Bachelor's degree programme is divided into three sub-areas and an interdisciplinary study area:

  • In the Business sub-area, you will learn the basics of business administration and specialize in either "value chain management" or "financial management".
  • After the basic training in Economics, you can specialize in the areas of "Sustainability" or "Incentives and Behavior".
  • In Psychology, you will first learn more about the basics of social, work, organisational and business psychology. You then choose further courses from the psychology programme with a different focus.
  • In Interdisciplinary Studies, you will learn the quantitative foundations of the degree program and apply your specialist knowledge to interdisciplinary issues. This sub-area includes lectures, an interdisciplinary seminar and your bachelor's thesis.
  • In the elective module group, you can take additional courses.

Details Requirements

Eligibility Test

Applicants undergo an eligibility assessment procedure. Your eligibility for this particular interdisciplinary degree programme will be assessed. The procedure comprises two stages. Broadly speaking, the eligibility assessment procedure is as follows:

  • First stage: Assessment of eligibility based on the higher education entrance qualification (HZB)
    • Overall grade of the HZB
    • Individual grades in the subjects
      • Mathematics (triple)
      • German (single)
      • English (single)
      • the best social science (*), including economics and psychology (double)
  • Second stage: Applicants whose eligibility could not be established beyond doubt in the first stage take a test. The test takes place at the University of Regensburg. The date will be announced early enough. In the test you will show that you
    • can demonstrate above-average mathematical skills (school mathematicians including combinatorics and statistics),
    • have the ability to think abstractly and logically and to formalize solution approaches and
    • have the ability to find solutions to interdisciplinary problems from the fields of economics and society.

(*) What is included in the social sciences?

The following subjects are categorized as social sciences:

  • Social studies (or comparable subjects with a clear reference to the social sciences)
  • Psychology
  • Economics and law
  • Religion
  • Ethics
  • History (often in combination with social studies)

However, the following are not considered social sciences

  • Geography
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics

Subject-Specific Language Requirements

Proof of knowledge of English at level B1+ of the common european framework of reference for languages (CEFR) is required.
