“When you're studying for a language teaching degree, you're always looking for new literature that interests and motivates children and young people. Normally you only hear about such texts in theory in courses without ever actually holding them in your hands. Thanks to the learning workshop at the University of Regensburg, we always have current and diverse literary texts at our disposal, from short stories and dramas to picture books and graphic novels, with which we can work practically.”

Students on the new learning workshop

“I really enjoyed taking part in an academic conference. I learnt a lot about Shakespeare and ESD and got ideas for incorporating these topics into my lessons. I think the format of the seminar was much more interesting and efficient. I take away much more compared to a weekly seminar. I particularly enjoyed acting and performing as a group with my fellow students and my member of the teaching staff. You felt part of a community and well integrated. I found the conference to be a very enjoyable and valuable experience.”

Students on the Shakespeare excursion

“I had the opportunity to participate in a seminar on the topic of "Global Education," which allowed me to connect with students from Turkey and Israel. It was a truly special experience for me to gain first-hand insight into the academic and cultural perspectives of people from other cultures. This exchange showed me how important it is to be open to different approaches, as it gave me new ideas for teaching. Overall, I really enjoyed this project and can imagine implementing a kind of "virtual exchange" in the classroom later on.”
