Germanistentheater
"Damn, we're still alive!" - is the motto of Germanist theatre. Without a performance, almost every drama text is incomplete and devoid of life; the characters on paper are considered to be dead. We have therefore set out to bring literature to life. Because the theatre is a magical place! Here, what is not in reality becomes reality. Literature is communication with the dead, theatre is communication with the living and so the dead are brought back to life in the theatre. We not only reanimate texts by people believed to be dead, but also playfully save the lives of characters trapped between the covers of books.
The Germanist Theatre usually puts on a production every semester, which is performed at the end of the lecture period in the theatre at the university. The group's repertoire is wide-ranging and extends from its own text productions to cabaret performances and modern interpretations of classical drama texts. Students from all disciplines are welcome to join.
