In her newly published article, Beyond Methodological Whiteness: Towards a Racialized Analysis of Brazilian Anti-Feminism and Anti-Gender Politics, Dr. Livia de Souza Lima (DIMAS, University of Regensburg) argues that Brazilian anti-gender and anti-feminist politics are structured not only by gender but also by racialized imaginaries.

Through a meta-analysis of recent Brazilian scholarship, the article shows how conservative discourses centered on the protection of women, families, and children rely on implicit ideals of whiteness while systematically excluding Black subjects from the horizon of protection. The article contributes to debates on anti-gender politics, Black feminist theory, and critical race studies by proposing a racialized reading of contemporary conservative mobilization.
