Vice-president for internationalization and diversity
Tasks
Prof Dr Jenny Oesterle-El Nabbout has been vice-president for internationalization and diversity since April 2026. Her tasks are
- the implementation of the internationalisation strategy | PDF of the University of Regensburg,
- structuring the international partnerships of the University of Regensburg and
- promoting society diversification and diversity on campus.
About Prof Dr Jenny Oesterle-El Nabbout
Jenny Rahel Oesterle-El Nabbout holds the Chair of Medieval History at the UR. She studied Medieval History, Islamic Studies and Protestant theology at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Justus Liebig University Giessen. she completed her doctorate at the University of Münster in 2007 and worked as an assistant professor for medieval history at the Technical University of Braunschweig until 2008. in 2008, Jenny Oesterle-El Nabbout was appointed to a junior professorship for "History of the Mediterranean in the Middle Ages" at Ruhr University Bochum, which she held until 2014. From 2014 to 2019, she headed the junior research group "Protection in Phases of Religious and Political Expansion" at the University of Heidelberg. Jenny Oesterle-El Nabbout completed her habilitation in medieval history at Heidelberg University in 2020. in 2020, she was appointed to the professorship of 'History of the European Middle Ages and its Cultures' at the University of Passau, and in 2021 she accepted an appointment in Regensburg. Since 1 April 2026, Prof. Dr Jenny Oesterle-El Nabbout has been Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity at the University of Regensburg.
