Research topics:

o Lattice Gauge Theory for QCD:
We calculate the properties of hadrons as parameterized by a
large set of functions: Parton Distribution Funtions (PDFs),
generalisierte PDFs (GPDs), transverse momentum dependent PDFs
(TMDs), Distribution Amplitudes (DAs), Double Parton
Distributions (DPDs) ... . While traditionally one was able to
calculate only very few leading moments of such functions far
more efficient methods were developed in the last decade, also
by us, of which the most prominent is LaMET. We continue to
develop and apply LaMET as members of a very large international
team, called the "Lattice Parton Collaboration".

 o Quantum Information Science (QIS):
In recent years an extensive and ever denser network of links
between Quantum Field Theory, Quantum Gravity and String Theory,
Thermodynamics and Quantum Computing was established, which is
often referred to as QIS. Basically, duality relations between
computational techniques of all these fields have been
established, which allow to formulate fundamental physics
problems in completely different languages and to use in each
case the most efficient one. This we do within a large
          international collaboration.

 o  AI in Medicine:
In collaboration with the group of Prof. Michael Altenbuchinger
in Göttingen we apply AI techniques to the analysis of clinical
data to improve the scientific understanding of specific
questions as well as optimizing treatment in what is usually
          called "personalized medicine".
