Registration for the written exams in FlexNow
Registration is required for each examination-relevant course before the respective examination. Participation in a written exam is only possible with prior registration in FlexNow (see examination regulations §18 para. 2).
Students must always register for written exams themselves in FlexNow - even for repeat exams. There is no automatic registration.
After successful registration in Flexnow, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive this or if there are other problems, please contact the Biology/Biochemistry Examinations Office or the degree program coordinator in good time before (!) the written exam.
The registration will be checked either before or during the written exam or must be confirmed by a signature on the cover sheet. Please bring your student ID with you.
The deadline for registration is five working days before the written exam (§18 para. 2 and §27 para. 1 PO). After this deadline, registration is no longer possible.
Failure - Withdrawal - Failure to pass
Failure to attend
If a written exam registered in Flexnow is not taken, this is considered a failure and the exam is graded as "failed".
Withdrawal due to illness
In the event of withdrawal from an examination due to illness, a medical certificate and a declaration of withdrawal must be submitted. Further information can be found on the website of the Biology/Biochemistry Examinations Office.
Final failure
An examination is deemed to have been definitively failed if it has been failed three times (§25 para. 1 PO).
Recognition of externally acquired academic achievements

Grade calculation
You can independently create a transcript of records/printout of grades for all of your achievements to date in FlexNow (external link, opens in a new window) at any time.
If you require a transcript of records with a provisional overall grade for applications before completing your degree programme, please contact the Examinations Office for Biology/Biochemistry.
For better orientation, a non-binding Excel template is also available, which you can use to enter your previous grades and calculate a provisional overall grade. This is for personal assessment purposes only and is provided without guarantee.
