Professor Hartmann only assigns PhD thesis topics within his own fields of research. Supervision of PhD students is provided on an individual and ongoing basis, and is regular and structured. In accordance with the guidelines on‘Good Academic Practice in Public Law’ (external link, opens in a new window), a university professor should not supervise more than around ten PhD students at any one time.
