The University of Regensburg participates in the Deutschlandstipendien programme, which supports particularly talented, high-achieving students who are also committed to society.

As part of this national scholarship programme, the TEACHERS FOR STUDENTS programme was also launched at the University of Regensburg. The idea behind this programme is that not only external supporters, but also lecturers at the University of Regensburg provide scholarships. As a result, several scholarships have already been funded from the TEACHERS FOR STUDENTS programme - individual lecturers have even provided entire scholarships.

The Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. calls the Regensburg model a "successful example of fundraising for the Deutschlandstipendium". "Many universities are very creative and successful in fundraising for the Deutschlandstipendium. They have come up with different methods and formats to attract scholarship sponsors," says the Stifterverband. The Deutschlandstipendium Service Centre presents some examples of strategies for attracting supporters - including the LEHRENDE FÜR STUDIERENDE programme at the University of Regensburg.
