DFG Research Group "Beyond Canon"
The Centre for Advanced Studies focuses on literary traditions beyond the biblical canon, on their diverse, often material forms of expression and starting points in "lived" and "popular" religion as well as on their underestimated significance in the ritual life of the churches.
Prof. Dr Andreas Merkt is Director of the Centre for Advanced Studies "Beyond Canon", which also includes the DFG Research Unit "Beyond the Canon: Heterotopias of Religious Authority in Late Antique Christianity" (FOR 2770).
