The university campus is easy to reach by bike and at peak times you can cycle to avoid traffic jams. The university buildings can also be reached by bike; possible access routes to the UR Forum are located behind the canteen or between the central library and the Computer Center, for example. There are parking spaces for bicycles in every part of the building, some of which are covered (learn more about the parking spaces on the German version of this website). There is a repair station for bicycles at the "Philosophie/Theologie" building. Shower and changing facilities are available for university members.
Repair Station for Bicycles
Cyclists will find a weather-protected bicycle repair station in front of the "Philosphie/Theologie" building. The station is equipped with an air pump, the most common tools and a device for hanging up the bike for easy mounting. Whether it's a flat tyre or a loose screw, small repairs can be carried out quickly and easily. A QR code on the column also provides tips and tricks for simple repairs.
Bicycle Pump
An air pump for bicycles was installed on campus in March 2026. It is located in the covered passageway between the chemistry/pharmacy and physicists buildings, near the chemistry cafeteria. It can be used to quickly inflate and reflate low-air bicycle tyres.

Changing Rooms and Showers
The journey to university is not always easy - especially if the route is long and steep or the weather is challenging. If you want to freshen up after cycling to university, there are shower and changing facilities on campus.
Hire Bicycles, E-bikes and Cargo Bikes
If required, normal bikes, e-bikes and e-cargo bikes can be hired from the provider Donau Donkeys for a fee.
