By Bus to the University

"University" Bus Stop

Eine große Bushaltestelle vor einem mehrstöckigen Gebäude in Sichtbetonbauweise. — Zentrale Omnibushaltestelle (ZOH) „Universität“

The "Universität" bus stop is located on the corner of Universitätsstraße and Albertus-Magnus-Straße, in the immediate vicinity of the “Sammelgebäude”. Within the university, this stop is also known as the central bus stop (ZOH).

"Otto-Hahn-Straße" Bus Stop

Opposite the university, in the Galgenberg-Straße, is the bus stop "Otto-Hahn-Straße". The university is also easy to reach from here.

University Site "Altes Finanzamt" in the "Landshuter Straße"

From 1914 to 2006, the building at Landshuter Straße 4 housed Regensburg's tax office, hence the name "Altes Finanzamt" (old tax office). Since 2007, the location has been home to the Centre for University and Academic Teaching (CUAT), the Ethics Commission and the Administration of the University Archives, among others.

The "Alte Finanzamt" can be reached on foot in five minutes from the main railway station (it takes about 20 to 30 minutes on foot from the campus). The "Hauptbahnhof" stop is a hub for many bus routes. You can reach the main railway station via the following bus routes, among others:

University Locations Bajuwarenstraße and Sedanstraße

Bajuwarenstraße 4

At Bajuwarenstraße 4, in the former Telekom building, you will find the premises of the Faculty of Informatics and Data Science of the UR. You can reach Bajuwarenstraße 4 with the following bus lines:

Bus route 11, bus stop "Schwabenstr."

Sedanstraße 1

Sedanstraße 1, on the eastern edge of the old town, is home to further UR offices and seminar rooms, including for the Centre for Remembrance Culture and the Leibniz ScienceCampus "Europe and America in the Modern World".
You can reach Sedanstraße 1 using the following bus route:

Travelling by Train

Regensburg main station can be reached by both express trains and regional trains; Regensburg is on the Amsterdam-Vienna and Paris-Prague railway lines.

Within Germany, trains can reach us from Berlin/Dresden, Hamburg/Hanover, Dortmund/Cologne, Frankfurt/Stuttgart and Munich.

Once you arrive at the main train station, you can walk to the University of Regensburg in 20 to 30 minutes, take a taxi or use the bus lines 2B, 6 and 11 of the Regensburg public transport network (external link, opens in a new window).

The Bavaria ticket, the City ticket or the BahnCard100 from Deutsche Bahn also entitles you to use the buses of the Regensburg public transport network see: https: //www.rvv.de/Bahn-Tickets (external link, opens in a new window) (German version only). If you arrive in Regensburg by train, you can either leave the main station in the direction of the "Arcaden" shopping centre (the passageway runs along the left-hand side between the station and the Arcaden building); you then walk directly to the "HBF Süd/Arcaden" stop. Or you can leave the building in the direction of the old town and walk to the "Hauptbahnhof" stop. In both cases, bus lines 6, 11, C1 and C6 will take you to the university.
