A Volkswagen ID.3 is available for hire at the canteen and opposite the university's central bus stop. The electric car can be hired via "das Stadtwerk.Earl", the e-car sharing concept for Regensburg. The ID.3 has a range of around 350 kilometres and is powered via the charging station with 100% green electricity from renewable energy sources supplied by REWAG.
How does e-car sharing work in Regensburg?
The car sharing concept is intended for short-term use and is charged per hour or part thereof and kilometre driven. After registering on the heyearl.de (external link, opens in a new window) website, new users must present their driving licence and ID card for verification and pay a one-off registration fee. The EARL account is then activated; booked cars can then be opened using an RFID card.

Please note:
- Parking zones and parking bans must be observed. E-scooters must never obstruct barrier-free access to buildings. People with visual impairments could trip over incorrectly parked e-scooters.
