There are currently 3920 accessions of 930 species stored in the seed bank Regensburg (as of October 2025). More than half of the stored species have a high endangerment status according to the current Bavarian Red List (categories 1, 2, 3, R). These include 91 category 1 species (such as Adenophora liliifolia, Armeria maritima subsp. purpurea, Campanula cervicaria, Linum perenne), 183 category 2 species (including Cochlearia bavarica, Dianthus sylvaticus, Scabiosa canescens, Trifolium spadiceum and Teucrium scordium) and 149 category 3 species. The endangered species with the largest number of accessions include mountain arnica (Arnica montana, 261 accessions), broad-leaved marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza majalis, 215 accessions) and Allium suaveolens (107 accessions). All three species belong to Red List category 3. In addition to the highly endangered species, there are also species on the early warning list. These species make up approx. 10% of the species stored in the seed bank Regensburg. In addition, over 300 non-endangered species with 1198 accessions are also stored.
