Professor Heese is happy to assist students who require a letter of recommendation or an academic assessment from a German university lecturer, written in German or English, as part of their applications for scholarships or study abroad programmes. Please note, however, the following requirements and the necessary procedure.
1. Requirements
You must
- be enrolled at this faculty,
- be personally known to Professor Heese from his courses, and
- be able to demonstrate above-average academic performance (A-levels and university results).
On this basis, a personal interview during consultation hours is mandatory. An assessment based solely on submitted documents will not be considered.
2. Procedure
Provided the above conditions are met, a brief description of the project, a letter of motivation for the project and the aforementioned evidence of academic achievement must be sent in advance by email to the department. Following a positive preliminary assessment, the face-to-face interview will then take place during office hours.
3. Deadline
Please time your enquiry so that there is at least one month between the submission of the documents for preliminary assessment and the deadline for the letter of recommendation. Last-minute enquiries will only be successful in justified exceptional cases.
