The Chair of Spanish and French Cultural and Literary Studies specialises in cultures, literatures and media from Spain, France, the French-speaking world and Hispanic America.

In the hispanophone region , the cultural focus is on Spain, the Cono Sur, Cuba and Mexico as well as on Spanish-language literatures in the USA. In addition to the study of France and Franco-German relations, Francophonie is an essential axis of the chair's work.
