Prof. Dr Beatrice Schuchardt was appointed to the W3 professorship for Spanish and French Cultural and Literary Studies at the University of Regensburg on 1 October 2024.
Research
Prof Dr Beatrice Schuchardt researches Spanish and French literatures and cultures from the 18th century to the present day. She focuses on the connections between literature, history and media. She examines economic models in Spanish comedies of the Enlightenment, postcolonial images of history and representations of migration and nomadism in comics and graphic novels. Other works are dedicated to Latin American media icons, Francophone hip-hop and the question of how literature and cultural forms of expression are fundamentally changing in the digital age.
