The missio is not primarily a formal administrative act: it is a sign of participation in the Church's ministry of proclamation. For this reason, reference providers must confirm that the applicant is prepared to teach religious education credibly in accordance with the teachings and principles of the Catholic Church and to observe these in his/her personal life.
