Personalized medicine may improve treatment for patients by choosing the adequate medication quickly. Genome-wide high-throughput measurement for each patient has the potential to determine the needed precise and fine-grained diagnoses for each patient. Different modern sequencing technologies newly allow for tremendous through-put at low cost and hence can provide novel options for personal medicine. The differentiation between false and true positives, however, is strongly challenged by sequencing errors und spurious matches. I am strongly interested in the further computational improvement of these caveats and evaluate such novel attempts in close collaboration with physicians and biologists.
