Enrollment

Enrollment is the last step on the way to your desired degree programme. In order to be able to study, you must enrol, i.e. matriculate. for degree programmes with restricted admission, you can enrol as soon as you have successfully applied and been admitted; please note the information in your letter of admission. For degree programmes without admission restrictions, please note whether an aptitude assessment procedure or an aptitude test is required.

Important for a successful enrollment:

Enrollment must be applied for online via the campus portal of the University of Regensburg, providing data in accordance with Art. 87 Para. 2 BayHIG (external link, opens in a new window). You can find out which data and documents you need to submit and by which deadlines in our information sheet on enrollment (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible) (PDF document).

If your documents are complete and you fulfil the requirements for enrollment, you will be enrolled as a student. After enrollment, you can retrieve your access data in the campus portal (external link, opens in a new window). You will receive the UR card by post to the address you have provided.

Please note the following points for successful enrollment:

  1. During the enrollment deadlines | PDF, the documents required for enrolment must be uploaded online in the campus portal. If documents are missing, enrollment is unfortunately not possible.
  2. Your application can only be processed if you have only applied for enrollment for one degree programme. If you have two applications with the status "Enrollment applied for", please withdraw one enrollment application so that your application can be processed.
  3. Please start your enrollment as early as possible. It can take two to three weeks to process applications. This period will be extended if your documents are incomplete. If you only submit your documents towards the end of the enrollment period, we cannot guarantee that enrollment will be completed by the start of the semester (1 April for the summer semester or 1 October for the winter semester).
  4. Unfortunately, you cannot call up or enquire about the current processing status of your application.

Enrollment for the doctoral program

After successfully completing a master's degree or state examination, you are generally eligible for a doctoral program. In order to enroll for this, you will need a Certificate for doctoral studies | PDF (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible). If you would like to do a doctorate at one of the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, you will need the faculty's letter of admission instead of this certificate.
