How do I get proof of health insurance?
The university requires proof of health insurance in electronic form. You can request the transmission of your health insurance certificate from a German statutory health insurance company. Please contact the statutory health insurance company with which you are or will be insured at the start of studies. Privately insured persons must also submit their certificate via a statutory health insurance company.
The submission of paper certificates (insurance card, membership certificate, etc.) is no longer sufficient since 01.01.2022!
What is the university number of the University of Regensburg?
In order for your health insurance company to be able to send the electronic proof of insurance, it needs the university number of the University of Regensburg. This number is: H0000341.
What applies to people with private or foreign insurance?
Private health insurance companies cannot confirm the proof of insurance directly or send it to the university. The same applies to health insurance companies abroad.
If you have private health insurance or health insurance abroad, please contact a statutory health insurance company in Germany. They must check your insurance status and send it to the university.
We cannot accept certificates sent to us by a private insurance company.
What applies to doctoral students?
Students who wish to obtain a doctoral degree and enrol for a doctoral programme do not require proof of health insurance.
