  • Project end: 2023

Aims and content

To establish a joint digital archiving structure, the State Ministry funded a collaborative project involving the Bavarian University Archives from 2020 to 2023.

To this end, an archiving consortium was established, which, as a joint cooperative initiative of the Bavarian universities, was also incorporated into Section 6(5) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHIG). The necessary structures for creating the digital archiving solution were put in place in 2020 with the DIMAG steering committee and the coordination office. By standardising the IT landscape, the number of specialist archiving information systems in use was reduced to a single solution (ACTApro). At the same time, the University Archives all use the same repository via DIMAG.

The digital archive is now in active use. Work is currently still underway on the DIMAG connector, which is intended to link ACTApro with the state-run DIMAG repository.

Parties involved

Dr Andreas Becker (Head of the University Archives at the UR)
