The Revelation Reception Network is an international scholarly network that focuses on the historical and contemporary reception of John’s Revelation (Apocalypse). The interdisciplinary network was founded to create and maintain an open and welcoming international environment in which scholars can collaborate, share ideas, communicate new literature and projects, stay current with conferences, and develop new collaborations, projects, and publications. All relevant languages, research topics, methodologies, time periods, and disciplines are welcome.
Seminar
The Network organizes a monthly seminar featuring established and early-career scholars. Planning for Season 4 is currently underway. To propose a paper topic for a future seminar, please send an email with a proposed title and a 200-word abstract to Nathan Betz (öffnet Ihr E-Mail-Programm). We will accept proposals for Season Four (2026-2027) until July 30, 2026. All proposals and papers must consist of material that has not been published previously.

Publications
Presenters are typically invited to prepare revisions of their seminar papers for publication as part of edited volumes edited by the network's members; the first volume is currently being prepared under the direction of Ian Boxall, Cristian Cardozo, and Nathan Betz. Further, a special issue of a well known scholarly journal guest edited by Elisa Manzo and Nathan Betz will also appear featuring the work of Network members; the topic will be the late-antique reception of Revelation.
Conferences and Workshops
Beyond the seminar series, the Network hosts in-person event. The first such was in the form of a two-day workshop at the 2024 Oxford Patristics Conference, and was organized by Elisa Manzo and Nathan Betz.
Planning for future conferences, workshops, conference sections, and scholarly collaborations is currently underway.
