In addition to the previous teacher training programs leading to the first state examination, the University of Regensburg offers a Bachelor of Education degree for the natural sciences and mathematics subject combinations for the teaching degree at grammar schools.
In this "Science and Mathematics Education" degree programme, students can acquire didactics, subject-specific and education skills that prepare them for future careers in the field of school and extracurricular educational work and educational research.
It is possible to switch between the previous in-depth teacher training programme and the Bachelor's degree programme, as well as double enrolment, which allows students to acquire credit points for both programmes simultaneously.
The Master of Education programme can no longer be taken from WS 21/22.

The Bachelor's degree programme in Science and Mathematics Education can currently only be started in the winter semester. From winter semester 16/17, the Bachelor's degree programme in Biology will no longer be subject to admission restrictions.

Double degree programme
Double enrolment in the advanced teacher training program for grammar schools and the B.Ed. program is possible.
Please complete the application for dual enrolment(http://www.uni-regensburg.de/studium/studentenkanzlei/antraege-bescheinigungen/doppelstudium/index.html) (external link, opens in a new window) and submit it as a scan to the Registrar's Office: by email(studentenkanzlei(at)ur.de) (opens your email program) or fax (0941-943-2385), e.g. with the subject "Doppelstudium Bachelor of Education Lehramt Gymnasium". The application for a double degree programme can also be submitted in a later semester. However, a desired upgrade to the semester in question would then have to be approved by the Examinations Office. This means a higher organisational effort on the part of the applicant and the Examinations Office compared to an immediate double enrolment in the winter semester.
