Tutors in STEM subjects
The deployment of student tutors is an important part of university teaching in STEM subjects. They support students in their subject, supervise laboratory work or lead tutorial groups.
Alongside subject knowledge, the success of such tutorials depends crucially on the tutors’ didactic skills.
? Process & supervision
- The faculties select students with the appropriate subject knowledge as tutors.
- At the CUAT, these tutors are specifically prepared for their work in workshops.
- The learning objectives of the workshops are geared to the respective field of work and are developed in cooperation with the subject supervisors.
- While the tutorials are running, continuous didactic support is provided: classroom observations and supervision ensure that what is learned in the training is transferred into practice.
? Cooperation partners
The project is carried out in close cooperation with the following faculties:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Biology and Preclinical Medicine
- Chemistry and Pharmacy
