How long have you been working at the CUAT? What do you particularly like about your job?
I’ve been at the CUAT since early October 2021 and was responsible for the Bavaria-wide QUADIS project until 2024. Since mid-2024, I have been working as an instructional designer for the Virtual University of Bavaria on a Bavaria-wide project. Before that, I worked for over ten years as a teacher in the IT training programme for students.
What I’m most looking forward to is developing teaching materials from a completely different perspective. Having lecturers as the target audience and didactics as the main focus is a combination that will certainly challenge me, but which also inspires me to explore new avenues.
What were you like at school and what was your favourite subject?
Up until the final year of secondary school, I was quite the rebel. When things got ‘serious’, I really knuckled down and became a bit more well-behaved. My favourite subjects were English, Biology and History.
Is there a song that always makes you want to start dancing straight away?
‘Santeria’ by Sublime and ‘Hopeless Romantic’ by The Bouncing Souls always do the trick.
Is there a sport you couldn’t do without?
Bouldering, if someone’s with me, and cross-country skiing, if I want to burn off some energy on my own.
Which podcasts do you subscribe to?
My favourites include ‘Revisionist History’ by Malcolm Gladwell, the ‘State of the Nation’ podcast and everything by Bill Simmons (the ‘Podfather’).
What’s your absolute favourite TV series?
‘True Detective’ – Season One blew me away; ‘The Wire’ – THE classic; or the hidden gem – the first season of ‘The Leftovers’.
