Profile
How long have you been working at the CTL? What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
I’ve been working at the CUAT since January 2020. What I particularly enjoy is the sheer variety of topics I get to work on every day. I’m grateful to my colleagues, who are willing to give even ideas that might seem absurd at first a chance to develop – and who actively help to develop them.
What are your interests or main areas of research?
I’m interested in pretty much the entire spectrum of how digital media can be used to support teaching. At the moment, on the practical side, I’m particularly interested in creating my own media content, especially audio and video. My main research interests are digitalisation in higher education and the design of multimedia learning environments that support learning.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Balanced, helpful, innovative.
What has been your most embarrassing fashion faux pas?
As a child of the ’80s … tie-dye T-shirts and apricot-coloured Adidas trainers.
Have you ever played truant? If so, why?
I’ve actually never played truant, but I was a member of the “Comfort Club” – the entry requirement was consistently boycotting the cross-country run in PE.
What do you most enjoy doing in your spare time, and what is it about it that you love so much?
It’s funny – in my youth I was in the “Comfort Club”, but these days I’m a big fan of endurance sports. I love running, preferably off the tarmac and on the trails around Regensburg – and even more so in the mountains. I also love getting out on my road bike, whether it’s for a quick spin after work or a longer, multi-day tour.
