Sufficient knowledge of the German language is an important part of integration. Therefore, it is beneficial to learn the German language in order to better understand German culture and to cope with everyday life.
German courses for international researchers
In cooperation with the International Office of the University, the Department of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) offers German courses for international PhDs, Postdocs as well as visiting scholars and their partners.
Course overview
German courses are offered for international PhD students, postdocs and visiting scholars covering online courses (Zoom + GRIPS) for level A1.1. and A1.2
At levels A2 to C2, international PhD students, postdocs and visiting scholars can attend the non-degreee German language courses ("study-accompanying German language courses") if there is free capacity.

German A1.1 - online course
Course period: October 17, 2023 - February 7, 2024
Teaching hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Registration: October 2, 2023 - October 12, 2023, via SPUR
Interested parties without a student account at the University of Regensburg must first complete a self-registration
