Research stays of students and early-stage researchers 2026
Advanced students and early-stage researchers from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe or Bavaria have the possibility to apply in cooperation with an academic supervisor from a Bavarian university for mobility grants for a research sojourn in Bavaria or Eastern Europe (travel expenses/allowance, accommodation expenses).
The program’s focus in 2026 is put on the region / countries: Western Balkan countries and Ukraine.
Maximum funding amount: 1.000 Euro

The following documents have to be handed in to BAYHOST within four weeks after the research stay or at the latest until November 30, 2026:
- report on expenditure of funds „Verwendungsnachweis“ (Word template) & (PDF)
- list of receipts „Einzelbelegliste“ (Excel template)
- Evaluation report (formless)
Mobility grants for study, lecture, and research stays by students, teachers, and researchers from/to Czechia 2026
Students, teachers, and researchers from Bavaria and Czechia can apply for mobility grants for research stays in Czechia or Bavaria in cooperation with their academic supervisors or teachers at Bavarian universities.
The applicant is the researcher or teacher at a Bavarian university. If approved, the funding will be allocated to a cost center at the applicant's Bavarian university.
Application: possible at any time

Bavarian Funding Programme for the Initiation of International Projects "BayIntAn - Promoting Cooperation"
The BayIntAn cooperation funding programme supports the initiation of international research collaborations involving state and ecclesiastical Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences as partners. The aim of this funding is to promote Bavaria as a location for science and innovation by further internationalising Bavarian university research.
There are two calls for applications per year, with deadlines at the beginning and the end of each year. The funding period may only be one financial year at a time. The exact dates are published each year on the website of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) (external link, opens in a new window)
