The entry requirements for this Master’s programme are:
(§ 4 Entry Requirements, Examination and Study Regulations)
1. a first professional higher education qualification or equivalent qualification with a standard duration of study of at least six semesters (180 CP) or a comparable scope of study in a Bachelor’s degree programme in Biology or a related subject, with an average mark of at least ‘good’ (2.50);
for foreign qualifications, the conversion is carried out using the modified Bavarian formula;
2. proof of English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);
To this end, applicants must provide evidence in the form of a recognised language test, such as the ‘Test of English as a Foreign Language’ (TOEFL) (at least 80 points) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (at least 6.5 points), or equivalent proof;
if the final dissertation (Bachelor’s thesis) was written in English, this shall be deemed to satisfy the requirement;
3. proof of programme-specific aptitude;
proof must be provided if the overall mark for a first professionally qualifying higher education degree or equivalent qualification with a standard duration of study of at least six semesters (180 CP) or a comparable scope of study in a Bachelor’s degree programme in Biology or a related subject in accordance with sentence 1, no. 1 is not at least ‘good’ (2.50);
this is demonstrated by successfully completing an aptitude assessment in accordance with Annex 1.
2 A related subject as referred to in sentence 1, No. 1, is deemed to exist in particular where the substantive and methodological requirements correspond to those of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Biology at the University of Regensburg.
