Johannes Kepler Centre for mathematics

The Johannes Kepler Research Centre for Mathematics was founded in 2008. Its aim is to make the University of Regensburg internationally visible as a strong centre of mathematics research.

The focus of the Johannes Kepler Research Centre lies in the areas of mathematics represented by the members of the Centre. These can be roughly divided into three main areas of research: Arithmetic Geometry, Global Analysis and Geometry and Applied Analysis.

The Centre's activities include workshops, guest lectures and seminars in collaboration with other universities. The Centre also supports the activities of DFG projects based at the Faculty of Mathematics in Regensburg.

The training and promotion of young scientists is also an important part of the centre's activities. In addition, the centre organises the Kepler Lectures, in which outstanding researchers give an introduction to their work.
