B.Sc. Mathematics

The mathematics degree programme provides sound knowledge in abstract and applied areas of mathematics and is characterised by logical, analytical thinking. The Bachelor's examination is the first professionally qualifying degree in mathematics. The Bachelor's examination determines whether the candidate has an overview of basic mathematical contexts and has acquired the specialist knowledge and skills required for a subsequent Master's degree programme or an early transition into professional practice.

In the fifth and sixth semesters, students have the opportunity to specialise in an area of their choice, which is also the subject of their bachelor's thesis. Research specialisations in Regensburg are arithmetic geometry, global analysis and geometry as well as applied analysis. In addition to the mathematicians' courses, a Minor Subject (26-30 ECTS) and elective courses (11-15 ECTS) are part of the Bachelor's programme.
