An internship in industry or business is a good complement to studying mathematics and can be credited to the elective courses in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. mathematics programmes (6 ECTS). Internship experience is often an advantage when looking for a job after graduation.

Requirements for recognition in elective courses in mathematics

  • The internship is subject-related and should take place in an environment in which mathematics graduates actually work.
  • The Internship has a duration of at least 6 weeks (Full-time).

Before the Internship

Students contact the degree programme coordinator to clarify whether the planned internship can be recognised in the elective courses in.

After the Internship

You submit an application (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible) for recognition of the internship and enclose the following documents:

  • Data sheet (anonymous; brief information about the internship, e.g. intended for other students)
  • Internship report (approx. 2 pages) in which you describe the tasks assigned to you, how you solved them and what you learnt.
  • Confirmation from your employer about your Internship

Submit the application to the degree programme coordinator.
