What is a student council?

A student council actually refers to the entirety of the students in a department. What is referred to as a "student council" in everyday university life is either the elected faculty student council (see § 66 paragraph 1 of the constitution of the university) (external link, opens in a new window) or a student council initiative, i.e. a voluntary meeting of interested students, for example of a degree programme.
