Guidelines of the faculty

The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Regensburg (external link, opens in a new window) addresses a broad spectrum of scientific questions in the fields of arithmetic geometry, partial differential equations, modelling, categorical structures, global analysis and didactics of mathematics. The faculty's research activities are focussed on three main areas:

In view of the strong international orientation of mathematics, the faculty sees the encounter of different biographies as a great opportunity. It therefore specifically promotes equal opportunities and allows individual freedom in academic qualification. In teaching, it is particularly important to us to respond to the individual needs of students from different degree programmes.
