B.A. Mathematics

Mathematics can be studied as a second major or minor subject in the Bachelor of Arts programme.

The aim of the Bachelor's degree programme in Mathematics as part of combinatorial Bachelor's degree programmes is to provide students with basic knowledge of linear algebra and analysis. Students are enabled to handle basic mathematical concepts and methods accurately, to work out simple mathematical proofs in the field of analysis and linear algebra independently and to formulate these carefully in writing. Analytical thinking and the ability to think abstractly are trained and students acquire the skills to structure complex problems. If students choose mathematics as their second major, they also acquire additional in-depth skills in either analysis, algebra or practical mathematics, enabling them to solve mathematical problems at an advanced level.
