Study start

A warm welcome to your degree programme at the Faculty of Mathematics! Here you will find all the information you need to get started with your studies. Further information can be found on your degree programme’s page.
The lecture period for the 2026/27 winter semester begins on 12 October 2026. Some introductory sessions and preparatory courses, such as the bridging course, will take place before then.

Introductory sessions

  • Introductory sessions organised by the Central Student Advisory Service
    • for Teacher Training 5–6 October 2026
    • for the Bachelor of Arts 6–7 October 2026
  • Introduction to the Bachelor’s and Teacher Training (Gymnasium) programmes in Mathematics
    on Monday 12 October at 8.30 am in H 32
  • Introduction to the Master’s in Mathematics
    on Thursday, 8 October at 9.30 am in room M 101
    (particularly for students who did not complete their Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Regensburg)

Bridge course for teaching degree and Bachelor's degree

The Faculty of Mathematics offers a two-week bridging course (external link, opens in a new window) in the winter semester in which, among other things, typical mathematical working methods, in particular proof techniques, are practised. The voluntary course is rated as very helpful by participants - both in terms of getting into mathematics and getting to know fellow students.

Date: 21.09. - 02.10.2026

The course takes place in presence, weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00!

    You will receive the relevant registration information for a course in the first lesson. You can register for lectures in advance in the university-wide course catalogues.
    Detailed information on the mathematics courses can be found in the annotated course catalogues of the Faculty of Mathematics.

    Please refer to the course catalogues of the individual courses to find out how and where you can register.

Study and discussion room for first-year students

During term time, there is a supervised study and discussion room for first-year students. There, students can study, ask questions, work, discuss, and so on.
