What is a Part-time Degree Program?
At the University of Regensburg, it is possible to study certain Bachelor's and Master's degree programs part-time. You can find an overview of degree programs that you can study part-time in the regulations for part-time study (German version only).
Studying part-time extends the standard period of study and reduces the workload per semester. However, the study objectives, program content and examination modalities remain unchanged.
What are the Requirements for Part-time Study?
Anyone wishing to enrol for a part-time degree program must meet the same requirements as for full-time study on the same degree program. Admission-restricted degree programs cannot be studied part-time.
If you are planning to enrol on a part-time degree program, you must first attend a consultation with the academic advising service. Proof of the counselling interview must be presented at the time of enrollment.
Please note: The amount of the semester fee is not reduced, it must be paid in full.
Can I Switch between Part-time and Full-time Study Programs?
You can also switch between full-time and part-time study during your studies. This is always possible during the re-registration period, i.e. towards the end of the lecture period for the next semester. It is no longer possible to switch after the re-registration period.
In total, up to two changes between full-time and part-time study are possible within a degree program. However, a change from full-time to part-time study is only permitted by the penultimate semester of the standard period of study at the latest.
Where can I find out more about Part-time Study Programs?
Further information on part-time study can be found on the websites of those degree programs that offer part-time study.
A list of these degree programs as well as detailed explanations of requirements, conditions, deadlines, etc. can be found in the regulations for part-time study (German version only).
