Change of Address or Name

If you have moved and have a new address, please remember to inform the University of Regensburg of your new address. This is the only way to ensure that important documents – such as your degree certificate – actually reach you.

You can update both your home address and your semester address via the SPUR campus portal. To do this, go to the menu item "My studies". Your home address is, for example, the address of your parents' house. You can be reached at your semester address during your studies or in the current semester, e.g. in your student apartment or in your shared flat.

If you have registered for the State Examination for a teaching degree and your address changes, a notification via SPUR is not sufficient. In this case, you must also inform the Examinations Office for Teaching Degrees. Please use the following form and hand it in to the Examinations Office.

If you wish to change your surname, first name, nationality or gender, please also apply via the SPUR portal (external link, opens in a new window). Navigate to "Change personal data" under "Service", enter a new application and upload the following documents:

• a copy of your identity card or passport
• if applicable, a copy of the supplementary identity card issued by the German Society for Transidentity and Intersexuality (dgti identity card)
  • or the extract from the civil status register according to §10 SBGG

When you enrol as a student at the University of Regensburg, your first name, surname and gender are recorded as data. In addition to male and female, there is another field for optional information. University documents - unless they are intended for legal transactions with external effect - and the university's internal e-mail address will be issued in the first name you have chosen. If you wish to change your university e-mail address after changing your name, please contact the Computer Center yourself . A new UR card can be issued with the changed name on request. This is possible for a fee of 10 €.
