The BPhD – or, to give it its full name, the Federal Association of Pharmacy Students in Germany (Bundesverband der Pharmaziestudierenden in Deutschland e.V.) – has set itself the task of representing the interests of all German pharmacy students. Like our student council, the BPhD’s executive committee is made up of students. The work of the executive committee is based on decisions taken by the general meeting. The General Assembly meets once a semester at the Federal Association Conference (BVT). As every pharmacy student in Germany is a member of the BPhD, in principle anyone can attend the BVT (external link, opens in a new window). In addition to plenary discussions, this conference comprises workshops and student parties. The respective student councils are responsible for organising travel arrangements. The venue for the BVT is always decided by the General Assembly one year in advance.
Membership of the BPhD stems from the fact that every pharmacy student in Germany benefits from its work. Examples of this include the organisation of placements outside Germany, the representation of students’ interests vis-à-vis the German government, and global networking.
In addition to the BVT, the BPhD now organises other events, such as the Pharmaweekend or the Vampire Cup.
