What does the student representative committee actually do?
On the one hand, we have a whole range of events that take place either annually or each semester and need to be organised; on the other hand, there are areas of work that require ongoing attention.
The former include, for example, the graduation ball for students who have passed their second state examination, the freshers’ orientation, the Teddy Clinic, and providing support for events organised by the BPhD or the Bavarian State Chamber of Pharmacists (BLAK).
Our ongoing tasks include, in addition to organising the society’s meetings and other activities, maintaining the student study resources, acting as a liaison between lecturers and students, maintaining contact with sponsors, and providing job vacancies. We also act as a point of contact for all matters concerning pharmacy students and represent their interests on the faculty’s committees.

Executive Board
The Executive Committee is responsible for managing the society and for its external representation. In this capacity, it represents the society in legal matters and is responsible for implementing the resolutions of the General Meeting. The Executive Committee is elected by the General Meeting each semester.

Committees
At our university, there are various bodies in which delegates represent the interests of the pharmacy student body. These include:
Student Council
Delegates: Lilith G., Nicole P.
It acts as a kind of student parliament and represents students at university level. Its remit includes, amongst other things, the election of students to university bodies. It comprises the Senate, faculty representatives and the political student groups.
Faculty Council:
Delegates: Lilith G., Nicole P.
It is the faculty’s highest decision-making body and, in addition to regulating the use of funds, also governs teaching and research. Its members comprise lecturers, university staff and one student representative each for Chemistry and Pharmacy. The latter are elected for a term of one year.
Curriculum Committee:
Delegates: no meetings are currently taking place
This is a faculty committee comprising representatives of the lecturers and student representatives from the student union; it is responsible for planning and optimising the degree programme.
Study Grant Committee:
This is a faculty committee comprising representatives of the academic staff and student representatives from the student union; it is responsible for the allocation of study grants.
General Meeting:
It meets once a semester (usually at the start) and comprises all members of the association. The delegates elect an executive committee and the officers responsible for the various tasks. Decisions regarding the student association’s direction are also taken here. Our constitution and rules of procedure form the basis for these decisions.
Student Council meetings:
Our student association meets every second Tuesday from 6.30 pm to 7.00 pm to discuss and vote on current issues. Anyone who’d like to ‘pop in’ is welcome to come along :)
Year Representative
What does a year representative do?
They represent and advocate for the interests of a year group in dealings with the academic departments. They also act as a liaison between our society and the respective year group. Furthermore, they play a crucial role in organising events such as the Christmas party or summer party.
They are elected by the year group at the start of their degree for at least one semester. If necessary – for example, in the event of problems with their studies or inactivity – a new election may be held in the following semester. As a rule, two semester representatives are elected per year group.
Christmas party:
Traditionally, the first-semester students organise this during the Christmas period. The arrangements vary from year to year. To make things a little easier for the organising semester, the student council is always available to answer any questions.
Summer party:
This usually takes place shortly before the end of the summer term and is traditionally organised by the fourth-term students. The student council also helps out with this. Together, we transform our beer garden into a really lovely summer setting with a bar, barbecue and beer pong tournament. You can find a few snapshots in our photo gallery.
Other tasks
Design Club
The Design Working Group designs all our posters for events and Instagram posts, and, together with the Merch Working Group, also designs our Pharmazie Regensburg merchandise.
Internet Working Group
The Internet Working Group is responsible for the student union website you’re currently viewing. We ensure that this website remains up to date and contains all the information you need to make your studies and life in Regensburg easier – and perhaps to satisfy your curiosity a little before you start your degree :)
Instagram Working Group
As the name suggests, the Instagram Working Group manages our presence on Instagram. This involves not only creating posts, but also communicating with other student councils and even the University of Regensburg’s Instagram account.
Party Working Group
The Party Working Group organises all our parties for us, first and foremost, of course, the Semester Opening Party.
Email Service
As a student union, we naturally receive lots of emails from all sorts of people. Our email service takes care of replying to these or forwarding them to the right people. This means you’ll naturally stay up to date with almost everything that’s happening in the student union!
Exam Ball Working Group
The Exam Ball Working Group is responsible for organising the exam ball – that is, booking the venue and the DJ, arranging catering, decorations, the raffle, ticket sales and everything else that goes with it.
Student Union Sports
Our Pharmacy football team trains regularly and also takes part in matches and tournaments. To support them, there’s also a cheerleading team. Both groups are always delighted to welcome new members, even those who aren’t part of the student union!
Teddy Clinic
Organising and taking part in the annual Regensburg Teddy Clinic is a very special undertaking. It’s one of the biggest projects we help organise, where you get to meet loads of new people and look after the children and their sick or injured cuddly toys. We always need plenty of volunteers for this, so please do get in touch if you’re interested!
Student Council Office
Our Student Council office is open for you during term time from Monday to Thursday, 12:00–12:30, and is here to help with any enquiries. Our main task, of course, is selling lab coats and safety goggles.
Contact Persons
The contact persons are representatives of the student association who are responsible for our links with external organisations. These roles are particularly interesting, as they offer students a very accessible opportunity to get a taste of professional politics and learn an incredible amount about what’s going on in the world of pharmacy.
The BPhD Contact Persons (CPs) manage our links with the BPhD, the Federal Association of Pharmacy Students in Germany. They take part in CP meetings with the contact persons from other pharmacy study locations in Germany approximately every 2–3 months, attend the BPhD’s national conference once a semester, and organise events such as the Vampire Cup.
The BLAK contact person is our point of contact for the Bavarian State Chamber of Pharmacists. Among other things, they attend delegates’ meetings and organise our visit to the Bavarian Pharmacists’ Day.
The DPhG contact persons are our links to the German Pharmaceutical Society. This year (2026), the DPhG conference is even taking place in Regensburg in September!
