CampusAsyl is a Regensburg-based association that was founded at the university in 2015 and works to promote the equal participation of refugees. Through more than 20 groups offering a wide range of activities, people from Regensburg’s local community – regardless of their backgrounds or experiences of displacement or migration – have the opportunity to meet one another and get actively involved.
Migration research, as well as language teaching and learning processes in intercultural contexts, are key areas of focus within the subject of German as a Second Language. Many people who migrate to Germany learn German as a second, third or additional language.
Julia Ritter, a member of staff at the DaZ Chair, also works for CampusAsyl as part of the BUF (Accompany – Support – Promote) project (external link, opens in a new window). In addition, she runs the seminar‘Language Support for Refugees’.
