DaZ degree programme

Course content and general information

Integration is a key priority for society as a whole. Language education is the most important area of work in this context, where the potential of a linguistically diverse community to further the development of society as a whole can be highlighted and harnessed. In the field of working with groups of children, young people and adults, skills in dealing with diverse, multi-ethnic learner groups will be essential in future. The degree programme in German as a Second Language is therefore in line with the mission of the University of Regensburg, which, in its mission statement, emphasises the vital role of scholarship in the development of all areas of society by addressing social challenges and contributing to their resolution. Students acquire key skills such as acting responsibly in society and intercultural competence.

  • Early childhood multilingualism
  • Assessment of language proficiency

  • The German language system and its use
  • Migration and integration
