Course structure

The DaZ degree programme, offered as an additional subject for all teacher training courses, consists of two modules that build on one another ( five modules in total). The lecture and the associated foundation seminar in the foundation module (M-01) are only offered in the winter semester and must be completed within one semester.

The language course in the foundation module can be taken at any time, independently of the lecture and the foundation seminar.

You can also find all the relevant information in the module catalogue (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible) at .

Required credit points (LP)

A total of 45 credit points are required to successfully complete the degree programme.

These are broken down as follows:

The placement must be undertaken in parallel with the accompanying seminar . You must register for the ‘Accompanying Seminar for the Placement’ on SPUR (external link, opens in a new window).

Credit points will only be entered into FlexNow (external link, opens in a new window) once the placement has been completed and the accompanying seminar has been successfully passed.

Proof of language proficiency for the language courses in M-01 and M-05

If you are studying DaZ as a supplementary subject, you must complete a language course in both the foundation module (M-01) and the language module (M-05). You can enrol on many language courses in the usual way via the course catalogue on SPUR (external link, opens in a new window).

However, if a language course is taken outside our department, you must have it recognised by us. The total workload of the courses should be 4 SWS (one intensive language course or two language courses of 2 SWS each).

Recognition of language courses:

To have your language courses assessed for recognition, please email the following documents to the secretariat (Susanne.Markulin(at)sprachlit.uni-regensburg.de).

  1. A fully completed application form for the registration of seminar credits
  2. Written proof of the work completed in the form of a copy or, where applicable, a scan (university, subject, semester, credit points, mark)
  3. Personal details (surname, first name, student number, email address)

Only complete applications will be assessed!

Once the applications have been checked and approved by the Chair of the Examination Board, they will be returned to you via the Secretariat and you must then forward them to the Examinations Office.

Which languages are recognised?

In principle, all native languages spoken in Germany are recognised.

The University of Regensburg does not recognise proficiency in Latin, Ancient Greek, English or French.
