You can view the current enrolment and deregistration periods for the individual courses.

Please note the enrolment procedure:

If there are several courses on offer for a compulsory module, prioritise them (up to 5) when registering for the individual parallel groups (= courses). The more you prioritise, the higher your chances of being considered in the lottery procedure for the allocation of places.

The module assignments for the individual courses show which modules you can enrol for. Please pay attention to the assigned modules and the course pathway when registering for the course! Please also note the red remarks in the individual courses regarding the inclusion of modules. In addition to the compulsory modules, the following module abbreviations are used:

  • WB-IMSK: The course is approved for the free elective courses in (20 free credits);
  • MED-BA-WB-fachintern: The course can only be taken by students of media studies in the free elective courses in (20 free credits);
  • AVM-MA-ZP: The course can be taken by M.A. students of media theory and comparative media studies for the additional compulsory credits.

After the registration deadline, places will be allocated by lot. The time of registration during the registration period has no influence on the allocation of places.

The first allocation of places for courses with a limited number of participants will usually take place at the end of March for the following summer semester and at the end of September for the following winter semester. For courses in which places are still available and for first-year students, a further registration phase will take place shortly before the start of the lecture period after the first allocation of places. The last allocation of places will then usually take place on the Friday before the start of lectures. If you have been admitted to courses that you do not wish to attend, please deregister from these courses in SPUR as soon as possible. In this way, you give others the opportunity to get a place on the course.

We will send you further up-to-date information on the registration and place allocation procedure and courses with remaining places by e-mail to your student account and/or publish it under News.

In the case of courses offered by other departments (see under "Organisation" in SPUR), the registration modalities and periods may differ. Therefore, please always refer to the information on course enrolment for the individual courses!

In addition to registering for the course, you must also register for the examination in FlexNow. The exact details of the individual examinations (date, FlexNow registration and cancellation time etc.) can be found in good time in the course details. Please also note any special deadlines for block courses, for example!
