Details on the lectures
Lecture Number Theory
Lecture Number Theory
Member of the teaching staff: Stefan Friedl
We will study the connection between number theory and cryptography. In particular, we will prove Fermat's little theorem, which allows us to quickly find large prime numbers in practice. This fact plays an important role in the RSA encryption method.
Lecture Analysis
Lecture Analysis
Member of the teaching staff: Helmut Abels
Differential equations can be used to formulate many scientific laws in which a wide variety of variables are related to their rates of change. This lecture explains what differential equations are, which mathematics questions they raise and how diverse their applications are. Based on school knowledge, advanced concepts are explained and some applications are presented.
