How to find a supervisor for your Bachelor's or Master's thesis or admission thesis for a teaching degree:
- Speak to your chosen supervisor in good time.
- If you are planning to write a bachelor's thesis specialising in Arithmetic Geometry, you should attend two of the lectures Algebraic Geometry I+II, Algebraic Number Theory I+II or other lectures assigned to the BV and MArGeom modules in your fifth and sixth semesters. By the end of the lecture period of your fifth semester at the latest, you should find a supervisor for your bachelor's thesis and register for their bachelor's seminar in your sixth semester. It is also advisable to attend a seminar with your chosen supervisor in the fifth semester or earlier. The topic of a bachelor's thesis often arises from a seminar.
- In order to write an admission thesis in the teacher training programme, you should have successfully completed the lectures Algebra and Analysis III (Measure and Function Theory) and attended a seminar with your future supervisor. Please discuss further details with a member of the teaching staff of your choice.
- For the exact course and time planning for the Master's programme, please contact your supervisor individually during the first year of study.
- If you started in the summer semester, a similar timetable will of course apply.
We would like to emphasise the opportunity to get to know potential supervisors for Bachelor's and Master's theses early on in your studies by attending the relevant seminars.
